Faust (Hamburg) - 14 albums

Faust were the product of the journalist Uwe Nettelbeck. The idea was to create a band which could match with Can and Kraftwerk. 6 almost unknown musicians moved into an old schoolhouse in the city of Wümme and stayed there for one year, sponsored by the Polydor label with a huge amount of money. In 1971, they created their self-titled debut album, extraordinary and crazy masterpiece even for today's standards, which received a very bad response by the music press. Their second album "So Far" was finally successful in England, where it reached number 13 in the charts.
